AC ACE

AEX 198 was built in August of 1956 at AC cars in Slough England & then imported into the U.S by Ac Imports in Arlington Virginia.

In the early sixties it appears that someone set up AEX 198 to race FIA spec, similar to Carrol Shelby's AC Cobras that we're being converted at the time. This AC Ace has a Dated '63 hi-po 289 271 horsepower Engine along with a '63 super T10 four speed Transmission and a Jaguar rear end with independent suspension and inboard disc brakes. The front end is a 1963 MGB knee action independent suspension with disc brakes. The original nose was replaced with a Rudd Speed nose & wider flares were installed to cover the larger wheel & tire combination which was needed to run FIA.

Ken Rudd Race Car driver and team owner designed these Bodies for his race cars in order to increase aerodynamics. In 2017 HRE Motorcars had completed a No Expense Spared Frame Off Restoration with serious attention to every last detail at a cost of over $150k. We have no documentation to prove this specific car was in fact a car that raced FIA in the 60's but everything leads us to believe that it was. All the items have been on this vehicle for the last 50 yrs and was most likely used by a race team or a privateer back then.
